Impetigo cauded by bacteria or virus?

Genital herpes is a virus and impetigo is a bacterial infection. Herpes will 99% of the time heal itself. It is a virus that is living out a life cycle and as it dies. Than the herpes sores will heal. Impetigo will not go away or heal without antibiotics. Untreated impetigo will get worse and spread to other parts of your body.

Bacteria cause impetigo?

Two types of bacteria cause impetigo Staphylococcus aureus (staph) and Streptococcus pyogenes (strep). Both bacteria can live harmlessly on your skin until they enter through a wound and cause an infection. You're exposed to the bacteria when you come into contact with the sores of an immpetigo infected person or with items they've touched such as clothing, bed linen, towels and even toys. Once you're infected, you can easily spread impmetigo to others.

Staph bacteria produce a toxin that causes impetigo to spread to nearby skin. The toxin attacks a protein that helps bind skin cells together. Once this protein is damaged, bacteria can spread quickly.
